I have waited long

and it’s clear...

happiness will not walk to me

unless I reach out and seize it

it will not be mine...

they say it’s all within,

which may be true

but what about extrapolation

some exploration

and contemplation

perhaps some validation

...for my heart is full of yearnings

brimming and spilling more everyday

there has to be somebody to hold it tight

in the night and all through the day

for I may try and keep it all inside

...and one day it may all dry away
